art book cologne, founded by Bernd Detsch in 1997, is a wholesale company and specializes in buying and selling high quality publications in art, art theory, architecture, design, photography, illustrated cultural history and all related subjects internationally. Our team includes specialists in art, culture, music, book trade and media but in spite of our diversity we have one common ground: the enthusiasm for unique art books.
We purchase remaining stocks from museums, publishers and art institutions. We sell these remainders to bookstores, museum shops, and art dealers all over the world.

The artist duo are causing a major sensation around the world with large-scale, colourful woodcut prints and unconventional typewriter drawings. The inspiration for their cycles of work comes from a variety of sources, ranging from folklore to art-historic traditions. Everyday patterns, motifs from Dutch still life and abstract shapes from the Russian avant-garde are assembled, collage-like, in puzzle prints to form new visual worlds.
Their artistic process is caught in the delicate balance between cultural memory and individual recollection and releases stored energy in collective symbols, updating them for the present day.
