art book cologne, founded by Bernd Detsch in 1997, is a wholesale company and specializes in buying and selling high quality publications in art, art theory, architecture, design, photography, illustrated cultural history and all related subjects internationally. The painter, graphic artist, set designer, and poet Carry Hauser (1895–1985) was a pioneer of Austrian modern art.
This catalogue raisonné comprises both a detailed biography and 1,420 works, some which have only recently been discovered. Carry Hauser’s artistic career covered almost the entire twentieth century. In these crisis-ridden times of two world wars, exile and emigration he made a unique and valuable contribution to Austrian art.
