art book cologne, founded by Bernd Detsch in 1997, is a wholesale company and specializes in buying and selling high quality publications in art, art theory, architecture, design, photography, illustrated cultural history and all related subjects internationally. Our team includes specialists in art, culture, music, book trade and media but in spite of our diversity we have one common ground: the enthusiasm for unique art books.
We purchase remaining stocks from museums, publishers and art institutions. We sell these remainders to bookstores, museum shops, and art dealers all over the world.

The publication accompanying Kounellis’s spectacular staging in the halls of the Monnaie de Paris.
Those who entered the exhibition spaces of the Monnaie de Paris in spring 2016 would have surely held their breath. Jannis Kounellis (*1936 in Piraeus), cofounder and one of the most important representatives of Arte Povera, designed a completely new, open work of art for the venerable halls of the Monnaie de Paris, the French Mint. As is the case for all of his works, for Kounellis what comes into play first is space, followed by the idea for filling it.
Thus the catalogue as well as the exhibition consummate the development of his oeuvre on the basis of each of the spaces in which this vibrant art takes shape.
