art book cologne, founded by Bernd Detsch in 1997, is a wholesale company and specializes in buying and selling high quality publications in art, art theory, architecture, design, photography, illustrated cultural history and all related subjects internationally. Reciprocity is a work of photographs, transversal and retrospective on the work of Jean-Baptiste Huynh. This work, intimate and elegant in its making, is a testament to the mutual friendship and looks that Jean-Baptiste Huynh had with Irving Penn and his son, Tom Penn.
Reciprocity est un ouvrage de photographies, transversal et rétrospectif sur le travail de Jean-Baptiste Huynh.
Cet ouvrage, intimiste et élégant dans sa fabrication, témoigne de la réciprocité d'amitié et de regards que Jean-Baptiste Huynh a entretenu avec Irving Penn et son fils, Tom Penn. Tom Penn a réalisé une sélection sur 30 années de travail dans 25 pays, et est le commissaire de l'exposition qui l'accompagne.
L'ouvrage s'ouvre par un portrait sensible et poétique rédigé par Emanuel Ungaro. Y figure également une lettre d'Irving Penn adressée à Jean-Baptiste Huynh en 2005, qu'il a photographié à l'occasion de cette édition. Le livre rassemble plus d'une trentaine d'images couleur et noir et blanc parmi toutes les séries réalisées par l'artiste : Crépuscules, Miroirs, Ethiopie, ...
