art book cologne, founded by Bernd Detsch in 1997, is a wholesale company and specializes in buying and selling high quality publications in art, art theory, architecture, design, photography, illustrated cultural history and all related subjects internationally. Die Zeche Hannibal in Bochum-Hofstede wurde am 31. März 1973 stillgelegt. Wenige Tage später begannen Bernd und Hilla Becher mit ihrer umfassenden Dokumentation der Zechenanlage, die 1974 abgetragen und eingeebnet wurde. In den knapp anderthalb Jahren zwischen Stillegung und Abbruch entstand die Arbeit "Zeche Hannibal", die detaillierte fotografische Beschreibung des Bochumer Steinkohlenbergwerks: 85 Aufnahmen, in 19 Objektgruppen unterteilt, erfassen von jeweils verschiedenen Standpunkten aus nicht nur die Gesamtanlage, sondern auch jeden einzelnen architektonischen Bestandteil. In der Abfolge der wechselnden Ansichten kann der Betrachter die Zeche Hannibal optisch umschreiten und damit vor seinen Augen sozusagen rekonstruieren.
