art book cologne, founded by Bernd Detsch in 1997, is a wholesale company and specializes in buying and selling high quality publications in art, art theory, architecture, design, photography, illustrated cultural history and all related subjects internationally. Our team includes specialists in art, culture, music, book trade and media but in spite of our diversity we have one common ground: the enthusiasm for unique art books.
We purchase remaining stocks from museums, publishers and art institutions. We sell these remainders to bookstores, museum shops, and art dealers all over the world.

A-chan created the images in Salt’n Vinegar in her home in New York and on travels between 2011 and 2013. Continuing her eloquent unassuming reflections on her immediate surroundings, A-chan depicts the unexpected beauty of water streaming from a faucet, a figure skater caught mid-pirouette, street scenes, supermarket shelves and a lone packet of potato chips, which lends its title to this book.
Salt’n Vinegar features both color and black-and-white images, suggesting that the independent threads of A-chan’s colored Vibrant Home and her black-and-white Off Beat, both published by Steidl in 2012, have now found resolution in book form.
